Katten will host Loyola University Chicago's Family Business Center for a half-day program, "Charting a Course for Family Business Legal Leadership," on Tuesday, April 16, from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The program, which will provide a wealth of knowledge and insights for family businesses, features several Katten attorneys, industry leaders and Loyola faculty and alumni. Included in the lineup:

Intellectual Property Partner Michael Justus, who heads Katten's Artificial Intelligence Working Group, will co-present "It's not Magic; it's Math: Responsibly using AI for your family and business." The session will cover the impact of AI and Machine Learning on family businesses and related legal considerations.

Litigation Partner and Deputy General Counsel Charlie DeVore will co-present "Addressing the Unexpected Lawsuit/Settlement: BIPA madness." The program will address the unexpected lawsuit/settlement requests generated by the Biometric Information Privacy Act and share experiences of how companies have managed these requests.

Partner Saul Rudo, Chair of Katten's Transactional Tax Department, and Private Wealth Partner Tye J. Klooster will join a panel, "Forming a Family Office," and feature case studies providing practical insights into the process.

Private Wealth Associate Caitlin Kelly and Corporate Senior Counsel Walter Weinberg will join a panel, "Corporate Transparency Act: Overview and Update," covering the latest developments relating to the CTA.

Private Wealth Partner Adam Damerow and Mergers and Acquisitions Partner Jeffrey R. Patt will participate in the closing panel, "Family Business Transition Planning," an interactive and interdisciplinary discussion to help attendees make effective adjustments to succession plans.
